This single-story home sits at the top of a large property in Innis Arden, designed for a retired couple with uninterrupted views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and the sky.
The plan is intentionally simple. Every primary space faces the water. The kitchen, dining, living areas, and the primary suite — including the bath and shower — are all aligned along the view. A continuous roof extends outward to cover an outdoor terrace, framing the horizon without blocking it. When the living room opens fully, inside and outside become one.
A guest room is placed toward the back of the house with its own private yard, offering separation and privacy. Beyond that, the house gives way to light, sky, and the sound of the water.
Strict HOA requirements limited both height and footprint. Rather than fight those constraints, the design embraced them, resulting in a low, quiet pavilion where the architecture recedes and the landscape becomes the focus.
