Métrica is a small studio by design. Andrés leads the design of every project personally, from the first conversation through construction. That closeness to the work is the whole point. The experience behind it, however, runs deep. Before Métrica, Andrés spent years working at scales most residential architects never touch.

He firststudied architecture at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and laterearned a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington, where he studied under Pritzker laureate Glenn Murcutt. He trained under Suyama Peterson Deguchi in Seattle and with Rafael Viñoly Architects, first in New York, then in Abu Dhabi - where he spent four years on site, leading the delivery of the NYU Abu Dhabi Campus Center, a 400,000 SF landmark project, from concept through completion. During this time, he coordinated multiple teams of architects, consultants, contractors, and fabricators in a culturally diverse environment. That kind of work shapes how you think about architecture, and it carries into everything Métrica does today.

In 2014, he and Juan León founded Métrica. In 2017, Andrés moved to Seattle/Bellevue to grow the studio's residential work in the Pacific Northwest. His portfolio since then includes custom homes, major renovations, and mixed-use projects across the region. His design for the National Museum of Memory received the AIA Merit Award for Concept Design in 2016.

Andrés serves on the City of Bellevue Planning Commission, helping guide the city through a period of significant growth and transformation.

He is a Registered Architect in Washington and Florida, a member of the American Institute of Archiects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and a Certified Passive House Consultant.

Juan runs the operations side of Métrica — every project, every deadline, every permit submission goes through him. He is involved in every project from beginning to end, and he is the reason things get delivered on time and on budget.

Juan is an architect in the traditional sense. He draws by hand, is a student of the Bauhaus and the mid-century modern movement, and is passionate about residential and multifamily design. He studied architecture at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and speaks fluent Spanish, English, and German.

Before Métrica, Juan spent over a decade delivering technically complex projects across four continents in more than 20 countries, from Costa Rica to Brunei. He goes where the work needs him — he has relocated to personally oversee delivery in Liberia, Morocco, and Abu Dhabi, UAE. As General Manager for The Royal Group in Abu Dhabi, he led the development of four major projects for the UAE royal family, coordinating teams of over 12 consultants on projects ranging from $20M to $150M, including work designed by Heatherwick Studio and Cebra Architects. He worked with Rafael Viñoly Architects, delivering faculty housing and a research center for NYU Abu Dhabi. For nearly a decade, he delivered projects across more than a dozen countries for clients including the U.S. Department of State, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the CDC. In 2003, his team received the Department of State Small Business of the Year Award for completing the U.S. Embassy Compound in Bogotá, ten days ahead of schedule, with no claims or change orders.

In 2015, Juan relocated to lead the Bogotá office of Métrica. Since then, he has coordinated the permitting and delivery of more than a hundred projects, including custom homes, luxury residences, and major renovations. Juan is a registered Architect in the State of Washington.

Angélica studied architecture at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, the same program as Andrés and Juan. She holds a diploma in Interior Architecture from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and has completed advanced training in Revit, BIM 360, and Navisworks through Naska Digital, along with LEED Green Associate coursework through the Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Strategic Project Management at Los Andes, expected in 2028.

Angélica joined Métrica straight out of school over six years ago, drawn to the international scope of the work and a model that barely existed in Colombia at the time. She came in at entry level. Today she runs the day-to-day operations of the studio. She defines weekly priorities and deliverables, coordinates task dependencies across the team, tracks permit status through government portals, manages consultant coordination, and resolves RFIs during construction. The team reports to her. She comes from a family of entrepreneurs, which gives her a natural instinct for how a studio should run, not just how a project should be drawn.

She was the lead point of contact for the Innis Arden Residence in Shoreline, an extremely complex custom home with a budget exceeding $6 million. The project involved significant shoring and site work, energy-efficient construction with ICF foundations, a demanding permitting environment driven by stringent HOA requirements, and a detailed client brief. Angélica led full production and coordination from concept through completion. Other key projects include the Verandah Residence, the Luo Residence, and Northlake8, all of which she led, alongside supporting Andrés and Juan on every other project in the office.

Angélica is driven, resourceful, and relentless about getting things done. She speaks Spanish, English, and French. She works in ArchiCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite, and Twinmotion.

Laura is originally from Colombia's coffee region, an area known for its rich landscape and cultural heritage, and that sensibility shows up in her approach to materials, color, and atmosphere. She joined Métrica in 2021 as a university intern and became one of the studio's most relied-upon people, quickly growing into a lead role. She studied architecture at Universidad Piloto de Colombia in Bogotá, with additional training in BIM and a Professional Certificate in Interior Design from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

At Métrica, Laura works across both production and design, preparing permit drawings and code reviews alongside developing interior concepts, mood boards, and material selections for clients. She is fast, handles large volumes of documentation without losing clarity, and consistently delivers under tight deadlines. She has led the coordination of all architectural deliverables for an 8,400 SF luxury lakefront home in Clyde Hill, and for a complex multigenerational residence with demanding energy requirements: solar, geothermal, and high-performance MEP systems, currently under construction. She currently leads the interior design scope for all residential and commercial projects in the studio.

Laura has traveled to New York, Buenos Aires, and Lima, exploring architecture in each city.

Sandra is from Lima, Peru, and studied Architecture at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. She came to Métrica drawn to the design of the projects, the level of detail, and the materiality of the work — but also by the way the studio uses ArchiCAD not just to model, but to communicate ideas and present clear options to clients. She sees the distributed nature of the team, working across countries and time zones, as a strength — a way to bring different perspectives into the work.

Before joining Métrica, Sandra spent several years as a Product Manager at Graphisoft Peru, training private firms and public agencies on BIM adoption with ArchiCAD. In 2022, she earned her International BIM Manager Certification from Graphisoft's headquarters in Hungary, covering advanced modeling, office-level BIM management, multi-discipline project coordination, and template development.

At Métrica, Sandra manages the studio's BIM infrastructure — maintaining and optimizing ArchiCAD templates, administering the BIMcloud server, and providing technical support across the team on everything from interoperability with engineering software to point cloud integration. She defines workflows, development levels, and BIM standards for each project, and runs quality control through cross-discipline reviews to catch conflicts between architecture, structure, and MEP before they reach the field. She also manages the link between the model and project budgets, coordinating materials, surfaces, and quantities so clients can evaluate options against real numbers.

Sandra has been closely involved in the Northlake8 project from concept through construction documents, and led the development of a full BIM workflow on the Nolli Residence — modeling, code compliance, interiors, furnishings, material specifications, and coordination with consultants. She works in ArchiCAD, Revit, Solibri, Grasshopper, Twinmotion, and the Adobe suite, and uses Airtable, BIMx, and CloudCompare as part of the studio's project management and client communication tools.

Outside of architecture, Sandra is a national high-performance athlete and a member of Peru's Women's National Kendo Team.

Angela is from Bogotá and studies Architecture at Universidad de La Salle, with an expected graduation in 2027. She joined Métrica during her sixth semester and works part-time at the studio while completing her studies, preparing architectural drawings — plans, sections, elevations, and construction details — with her work focused primarily on high-end residential projects.

Angela has built an unusual research profile for someone still in school. In February 2026, she was invited to present at the XX International Congress on Design Principles and Practices at Sapienza University of Rome, following her research on the relationship between spatial design, collective memory, and identity in rural contexts. Her paper, "Habitar la ruralidad" ("Inhabiting Rurality"), is forthcoming in the International Journal of Architectural, Spatial and Environmental Design.

That work grew out of her involvement in the university's Research Group on Rural, Peasant, and Ethnic Studies, where she focuses on territorial analysis and interdisciplinary fieldwork. In 2025, she presented at the VII International Congress on Development and Territory. She also participated in the International VELUX Award 2024 workshop, developing a housing project in Usme, Bogotá, centered on the relationship between light, space, and experience.

Angela works in Revit, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and QGIS, along with the Adobe suite. Her interests sit at the intersection of territorial analysis and architectural design — housing, collective spaces, natural light, and materiality. She is curious, observant, and drawn to architecture that responds to the specifics of place.

Andrea joined Métrica in 2016, two years after the studio was founded, making her one of its longest-standing team members. She manages the studio's dual accounting operations — working simultaneously across two currencies, two languages, and two tax codes to keep the financial infrastructure running cleanly on both sides. Payroll, taxes, budgeting, vendor invoices, financial statements — it all runs through her.

She is also the person who keeps the principals in check. Biweekly reviews with Andrés and Juan, invoice approvals, payment scheduling, and budget accountability are part of her rhythm, and the studio runs more tightly because of it.

Andrea studied Public Accounting at Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios in Bogotá and completed a specialization in Tax Management at Politécnico Grancolombiano. She is currently completing training in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). She works in World Office, Harvest, and Airtable.
